Calliope

Calliope is the eldist of the nine muses, a god of literature, science and art. She presides over epic poetry and eloquence. In my crazy sculpture Calliope is depited in the form of a cherub with the head and tail of a cat. Her wings appear to be made of spun gold and she is enjoying a houka with both hands. She is guarded by two brass llamas standing at attention. There are books, flowers, spoons and scientific weights shown throughout. Calliope was created entirely with rescued junk. She started out as a small ceramic figure with a missing head.
